Rosebride dress

Well, I just had to…. you know?

For AX 2007, for a year Sundari-chan and I had been planning to cosplay together as Rosebrides. Part of the fun of making this costume was that we would try to match each other and/or make certain parts of the costumes for each other.

When looking at the design for utena’s rosebride dress, I would kind of cringe at the color choices, but after making it and putting it all together, I really like them. The colors of her outfit vary drastically from photo to photo, and there’s really only a few of them.

I made everything on mine except for the crown and the epaulettes, which Sundari-chan’s husband made. I actually cut out the shirt some 5 or so times because princess seams and I don’t get along very well. I made Himemiya’s clear skirt, pockets and gem/cord. Athena helped me out a lot with making the gems for these outfits. I also styled Himemiya’s wig.

We got matching highheels (though we didn’t wear them for too long.. hahah), and petticoats and everything. My petticoat kind of died in transport though =(
